Community Transport
Nottinghamshire County Council Social
Care Services provides a range of
community transport services to meet the needs of disabled and
older people, who do not have suitable conventional public
transport services available for their travel needs.
Disabilities

Services provides and arranges a range of services to support and
care for people with
disabilities. These include services that aim to help people
live independent lives and services for people who need more help
and support.

Over the past 12 months a number of health and
transport providers have been working together to set up a one-stop
contact phone number which will be known as Transport to
Health.
Bassetlaw has been chosen for the pilot area as
it is a large rural district with limited public transport in some
of its rural villages, so accessing health services can be a
problem.

There are many children and young people in North
Nottinghamshire who, for a variety of reasons, cannot stay with

Community Care is available to anyone aged
eighteen or over who needs advice, support or care because of their
particular needs. Adults who may be able to get community care
services include people with learning disabilities and people with
or affected by
HIV or AIDS.
Services for older people
Nottinghamshire County Council Social Care
Services provides and arranges community care services for
older people who are aged 65 and over, and are frail,
vulnerable and in need of support to remain living in the community
or in need of residential or nursing care.
Substance Misuse
If you live in Bassetlaw and want help to stop
misusing drugs or alcohol or to sort out the problems that
drug or alcohol misuse may be causing, Social Services may be
able to help.
