The Local Development Framework
Planning the Future of Bassetlaw
The Local Development Framework (LDF) is the term used to
describe the set of planning documents that will become the
comprehensive spatial planning guide for Bassetlaw. Once adopted,
these documents will supersede the Local Plan that was approved in
2001.
LDFs are intended to deliver sustainable
development, while reflecting the needs and ambitions of local
communities. They aim to integrate policies for the development and
use of land with other policies and programmes that influence the
nature of places and how they can function.
LDF documents are also subject to a Sustainability Appraisal to
ensure that the economic, environmental and social effects of the
plan are in line with sustainable development targets.
