Bulky Items
In addition to the weekly collection of wheeled
bins, we also provide a chargeable service to enable you to dispose
of those items that are too large to go in your wheeled bin.
For example if you have a bed, mattress,washing
machine or wardrobe etc. that you no longer require we will collect
it for you.
The charges from 1 April 2009- 31 March 2010 will be:
- £11.30 - 1 item
- £22.60 - 2 to 3 items
- £33.90 - 4 to 6 items
- £45.20 - 7 to 9 items
These items can also be taken by yourself at no
cost to one of the two Household Waste Recycling Centres
located at:
- Shireoaks Road, Worksop
- Hallcroft, Retford
Van or Trailer Permit
Please be aware that if you wish to use a van or a trailer to
transport your items you must first apply for a permit, this is
free, and obtainable from Nottinghamshire County Council on 0844
980 80 80.
Opening times
The Household Waste Recycling Centres are open seven days a week
at the following times:
- March 1st to March 31st, 8am to 6pm
- April 1st to September 30th, 8 am to 8pm
- October 1st to October 31th, 8am to 6pm
- November 1st to February 28/29th, 8am to 4pm
Please note they are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day
and New Years Day.

Asbestos Collection
If you have a need to dispose of the Bonded Type
of Asbestos only, in the form of Guttering or Sheets, we will
collect it for you.
From 1st April 2009 to 31 March 2010 the new
charges will be:
- Guttering/small items (up to 5 sheets
) £51.00
- Roofing sheets ( up to 20
) £107.50
- Full
Garages £170.00
This service is for domestic households
only, not commercial premises.
