Chairman of the Council
The civic head is the Chairman of the Council who was
elected on 19th May 2010 at the Council's Annual General Meeting
and will hold office for one year.
This year's Chairman is Councillor Ken Bullivant.
Councillor Kenneth Bullivant was elected as Chairman of
Bassetlaw District Council on 19th May 2010.
Councillor Bullivant hails from Lincoln and is married to
Barbara. They have one daughter, three granddaughters and one
great-grandson.
After beginning his career at the former Lindsey County Council
in Lincolnshire, Councillor Bullivant became a careers advisor,
taking up positions in Louth, Newark and Loughborough. Following a
move to Bassetlaw in 1973 he was appointed Divisional Careers
Officer for North Nottinghamshire.
He was elected as Nottinghamshire County Councillor in 1989 and
became a District Councillor two years later.
Councillor Bullivant has been a member of the Rotary Club for
over 40 years, is a Past President of Retford Rotary Club and is
also a Paul Harris Fellow.
This year's Vice-Chairman is Councillor Mary
Stokes.
