Local Strategic Partnership
The Bassetlaw Local Strategic Partnership (BLSP)
is a joining of organisations that operate within the Bassetlaw
district.
These organisations originate from the public
sector, voluntary and community sector and from the business
sector.
Representatives from all of these organisations
have undertaken to have regular meetings to discuss issues around
service delivery in the District and how this can be improved.
The BLSP consists of seven themed groups:
- Economic Regeneration
- Learning & Skills
- Environment
- Health
- Social & Community
Development
- Community Safety
- Children and Young People
In addition, we have another two cross-cutting groups:
- Transport and Accessibility
- BEAN (Bassetlaw Elderly Action Network)
Why do we have a Local Strategic
Partnership?
LSP’s are the key mechanism being promoted by the
Government to join up public services at an authority wide level.
Local Authorities are expected to develop such partnerships
where they do not currently exist.
What the Local Strategic Partnership hopes to achieve?
To provide an overarching local co-ordination
framework within which other, more specific, partnerships can
operate. It will provide linkages with other plans such as
the Health Improvement Programme, Crime and Disorder Strategies,
Council Housing Strategies, Economic Development Strategies and
Supporting People. It will also provide the framework
for the production of the Community Strategy.
