Bassetlaw – ‘Moving up a Gear Corporate Plan 2007 – 2010
Bassetlaw is
‘moving up a gear’. The performance of council services is
improving; we have a greater understanding of the communities we
serve, and our commitment to partnership working is stronger than
ever.
The Council’s mission is, ‘to secure the best
possible quality of life for everyone in Bassetlaw’. This is
a long-standing mission yet it is as true today as it was when it
was fist written.
We have worked with you, the residents to set
the future direction for the Council, so your concerns, views and
priorities are reflected in our plans for the next three years.
At the beginning of the year the Council
revised its priorities. They reflect changes in local
circumstances, national Government priorities as well as the views
of local people.
Our priorities for the District and its
residents over the next three years are:
Clean and Green
We want everyone to enjoy a clean environment
and have access to green open spaces.
Safe and Strong
We want our residents, businesses and visitors
to the area to feel safe and not to be a victim of crime. We
also want to promote a strong sense of pride in our communities,
and the health and well-being of our residents.
Jobs and Enterprise
We want businesses to thrive in Bassetlaw and
for a variety of jobs and careers to be available to Bassetlaw
people.
We will deliver these priorities through a
Council that is:
Efficient and Effective
