Small Business Rate Relief

From 1 April 2005, the Government introduced the Small Business Rate Relief Scheme (SBRR).  This scheme means that the Government has set two multipliers.  For 2010/11 these values are 41.4p for those who do not qualify for this relief (or do not claim it) and 40.7p for those who qualify.

This Relief is only available to rate payers with either-

  1. One property whose rateable lower than £18,000, or
  2. One main property and other additional properties providing those additional properties have rateable values less than £2,600, and all properties in total do not exceed £18,000

More information is available in the Business Rates leaflet 'Your Business Rates'.  This accompanied your annual rates bill.  If you want to be sent another copy please e-mail the Business Rates team at business.rates@bassetlaw.gov.uk or telephone the Business Rates helpline on 01909 533460.

Alternatively, download an application form and guidance notes.
