Payment using Billpay Service

https://www.billpayment.co.uk/scripts/index.asp

(This uses the Alliance Leicester internet payment facility, you just need to go through the simple registration process).

You can pay money to the council for the following bills by debit card using the internet. This method is currently suitable for:

  • Council Tax
  • Business Rates
  • Rent (A1 Housing)

The service is currently provided by Girobank's BillPay scheme on behalf of the council. You do not need to hold a Girobank account. The service is available 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Bassetlaw District Council will be introducing further enhancements to the online payment facility which will allow customers to pay for more of their services online using debit or credit cards.

Full details of how to use the BillPay service, including registering as a new user, and importantly the assurance that the latest encryption technology is used by Girobank, can be found by access to their website.

Another advantage is that once you've completed the simple on-line registration with Girobank you can pay other bills this way, not just your Council Tax to Bassetlaw District Council.

To use the service you will need a Delta, Visa Electron, Switch, Maestro, or Solo debit card.

Credit cards are not currently accepted by the Billpay service.
