In September 2007 Fordham Research Limited
completed a Strategic Housing Market Assessment covering seven
Local Authority Areas in the Northern area of the East
Midlands. The Authorities covered were Ashfield,
Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Newark & Sherwood
and North East Derbyshire.
The Strategic Housing Market Assessment
analyses housing need and demand, allowing local Authorities to
develop a good understanding of how Housing Markets operate in
their area.
As well as taking into account the influence
of the Sheffield City Region the report also takes account of the
influence of other major cities in the region (i.e. Nottingham and
Derby), which for Bassetlaw have far less impact than the
settlements in South Yorkshire.
