Worksop Cinema Gets One Step Closer
Bassetlaw District Council have taken another step towards
bringing a Cinema to Worksop with the advertising of the Cinema
development opportunity in the in the European Journal and Estates
Gazette.
The Council is seeking Developers/Cinema operators to bring
forward a multi screen cinema for Worksop with two site options at
Retford Road or Potter Street, Worksop.
Both sites are considered to be suitable for development, with
the town centre site ideal for a cinema unit to fit in with
existing services. The Retford Road would be ideal for a cinema
lead mixed-use development.
Portfolio Holder for Property and Finance, Councillor Terry
Yates said:
“Advertising this development opportunity may not sound very
exciting, but it is a very significant step towards delivering the
Cinema project. We remain committed to keeping people informed of
the process and are aiming for a delivery contract by mid-
August.”
