Get involved in Bassetlaw Spring Clean
If your neighbourhood is in need of a bit of spring clean and you have a willing band of volunteers, Bassetlaw District Council could give you a helping hand.
The Council is supporting Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’ over the weekend of 2nd, 3rd and 4th March 2018, which is a chance for community minded individuals and groups to spruce up their street, village or public space with an organised litter pick.
However, while we are encouraging as many people as possible to get involved with next month’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’, people in Bassetlaw can organise an event throughout the whole of March or at any other time of the year!
You can donate as much of your time as you wish, from an hour to a full day or more! Simply tell us where your litter pick will take place and the Council will provide you with bags, gloves, litter pickers, high-viz vests, and collect the litter once is has been picked.
Cllr Julie Leigh, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods at Bassetlaw District Council, said: “Over the last few years we have had a fantastic response from residents, groups and schools who have helped to tidy up their communities for the benefit of everyone. If you are planning a Spring Clean, we’d love to hear how and where you plan to get involved, so please register via our website.”
To be part of this year’s event, please Register your Spring Clean with the Council before 22nd February and we will arrange for the equipment to be sent out to you in time. Alternatively you can organise an event at any time of the year, but please give us two week’s notice.
If you would like to be part of the ‘Great British Spring Clean’ week of action, please also register this with Keep Britain Tidy at www.keepbritaintidy.org.
