Bin Collection Update

Green & blue bin collections - Update 5/3/18

Following the adverse weather conditions last week, our Refuse Crews are currently catching up on any Green and Blue bins that could not be emptied, along with bins that have been missed. This is in addition to making normal collections across the district.

If your bin was due to be emptied last week, please continue to leave this out and we collect it as soon as possible. Unfortunately we cannot give any specific collections days for areas where bins have not yet been emptied.

Should your bin be full, we will collect any extra waste bags with green bins. Any recycling waste should be put out in paper bags or boxes.

If you have reported a missed bin since Wednesday 28th February and your bin has not yet been emptied, please do not report this again. Your request has been logged and we will collect your bin as soon as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused and thank you for your patience so far. Please continue to leave your bin out and we will collect it as soon as possible.

Garden waste bin collections

Updated on Friday 2nd March

Due to the snow and frozen weather conditions that we experienced last week, we have been forced to take the unfortunate decision to suspend the collection of Garden Waste between Monday 5th and Friday 9th March 2018.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and in order to compensate for this reduction in service, we will be making additional collections at the end of the season. This means that collections of Garden Waste will continue until Friday 14th December 2018.

This decision has been made due to a number of circumstances, including a backlog in the normal collection of general refuse and recycling waste that has been caused by the adverse weather conditions. The suspension of the Garden Waste service will allow our staff to catch up on these collections and allow us to return all collections to a normal service as quickly as possible.

The areas specifically affected by this suspension of service include; Worksop, Rhodesia, Shireoaks, Carlton in Lindrick, Costhorpe,  Langold, Oldcotes, Styrrup, Sutton Cum Lound, Scrooby, Ranskill, Misson, Mattersey, Mattersey Thorpe, Lound, Everton, Barnby Moor, Blyth, Harworth and Bircotes, Cuckney and Nether Langwith.

We anticipate full collections to resume on Monday 12th March and ask customers to place their Brown Bins at the curb side on their normal collection day.

This follows the suspension of the service for Thursday and Friday this week (1 & 2 March).

An email and text emssage has been sent to all Garden Waste customers to notify them of this decision. Once again, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The decision has been made to cancel the markets at Retford and Worksop on Friday and Saturday.

With freezing temperatures expected, snow still on the ground and high winds, the safety of our staff, market traders and the public has to be our top priority.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will update accordingly.

Bassetlaw Museum

Unfortunately, we have had to close the Musuem. It will hopefully be open tomorrow (Friday). However, keep an eye on our website and Facebook for updates.
