Environmental Sites Assessment

Checklist

Given the significance of designated environmental sites, and their sensitivity to new forms of development, conservation issues will serve, in some cases, to constrain new development. While all environmental assets should be afforded appropriate protection in the planning process, it is those sites that are closest to urban areas that tend to face the greatest and most immediate development pressure.

This study, therefore, assesses the requirements of relevant legislation and planning policy, then identifies and maps Bassetlaw’s environmental assets.
