Sturton Ward Neighbourhood Plan
Following a successful Public Referndum held on the 11 February 2016 the Sturton Ward Neighbourhood Plan has been 'made' by Bassetlaw District Council.
Adoption of Sturton Ward Neighbourhood Plan
Following the successful result of the Public Referendum held on the 11 February 2016 on the Sturton Ward Neighbourhood Plan, Bassetlaw District Council has ‘made’ the Plan and it will now be used to assess planning applications submitted within the Parish.
The Submission version of the Neighbourhood Plan for Sturton Ward is now complete; a consultation period on the document ran from 3rd August until 5pm on 19th September 2015.
An examiner was appointed to inspect the Plan and produced the Examiners Report on the 2nd December 2015.
The examiner recommended that the Plan may proceed to a Public Referendum subject to some amendments, these must now be addressed by Bassetlaw District Council while a date for the Public Referendum is agreed.
Submission Neighbourhood Plan
In accordance with Section 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Bassetlaw District Council hereby invites feedback from organisations and individuals on the Sturton Ward Neighbourhood Development Plan. The consultation period will last for six weeks and will run from 5pm 3rd August until 5pm on the 19th September 2015.

A draft version of the document underwent consultation which ended on the 6th April 2015. Comments made to the Parish Council from that consultation helped inform changes to the document submitted to Bassetlaw District Council. The Neighbourhood Development Plan, written by The Sturton Ward and the community group proposes a number of policies on; housing design, tourism, flooding, employment, recreation, environment and Energy efficiency.
Sturton Ward Neighbourhood Plan
The Draft Neighbourhood Development Plan for Sturton Ward is now complete; a consultation period ran until the 6th April 2015. The Steering Group will now analyse responses received and produce the final Neighbourhood Plan for submission to the Council.

The approval of the Neighbourhood Area Designation, for the Sturton Ward Neighbourhood Plan, was made on the 4th April 2012. No comments or objections were received to carry out the plan, therefore, the Neighbourhood Plan may now commence.

Notice is hereby given that an application has been made by the Sturton Ward to Bassetlaw District Council to be recognised as a Neighbourhood Area for the purpose of producing a Neighbourhood Plan.
Notice is also given that an application has been made by the Sturton Ward Planning Forum, comprising of the Parish Councils of North Leverton, Sturton le Steeple and North & South Wheatley, to be the Neighbourhood Planning Forum for the Neighbourhood Area proposed above.
