Bassetlaw District Council’s Licensing Department is responsible for the issuing of campsite site licences/permission, once land has obtained planning permission.
Application for a Campsite Licence/Permission
Under Section 269 of the Public Health Act 1936 a licence is required if a person allows any land occupied by them to be used for camping (tents only) purposes on more than forty-two consecutive days or more than sixty days in any twelve consecutive months. There are exemptions from the licensing requirements and these are set out in section 269 (5) and (6) of the Public Health Act 1936.
If you wish to use your land as a tent site for longer that the days stipulated, then you must apply for a site licence.
It is likely that planning permission will also be required from Bassetlaw District Council’s planning department, please contact them for further information.
Please complete the application form below and return this with all requested supporting documentation to:
Bassetlaw District Council
Please note there is no fee payable for this type of licence/permission
In order to uphold safety at a site, any new licence will be subject to conditions that must be complied with at all times,
