  • To set out clear expectations for registered providers operating in the district
  • To make the best use of the council’s housing stock and wider social and affordable housing in the district
  • To prevent homelessness and enable housing to be offered to those in the greatest need

  • To create and maintain sustainable communities
Links to Council Priorities & Projects

The Tenancy Strategy supports a number of priorities including:

  • Providing guidance that Housing Associations should have 'regard to' in developing their own policies
  • Ensuring a more consistent and transparent strategic approach to tenancy policies across the district
  • Taking account of affordability and sustainability of tenancies for households on low incomes
  • Making the best use of social and affordable housing to reduce housing need and facilitate tenant mobility
Outputs & Outcomes
