Declaration of Results

The question asked was:

“Do you want Bassetlaw District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Shireoaks to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

  • Number cast in favour of a Yes - 240 (92.3%)
  • Number cast in favour of a No - 20 (7.69%)

Turnout was 23.15%

 Information in the lead up to the Referendum

A Referendum relating to the adoption of the Shireoaks Neighbourhood Plan will be held on 17th November, 2016. 

The question that will be asked in the Referendum is:

“Do you want Bassetlaw District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Shireoaks to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

The Referendum area is identified on the map which is included.

The Referendum area is identical to the area which has been designated as the Shireoaks Neighbourhood area.

A person is entitled to vote in the Referendum if on 1st November, 2016

  • he or she is entitled to vote in a local government election in the Referendum area; and
  • his or her qualifying address for the election is in the Referendum area.  A person’s qualifying address is, in relation to a person registered in the register of electors, the address in respect of which he or she is entitled to be registered.

The Referendum expenses limit that will apply in relation to the Referendum is £2,428.43.  The number of persons entitled to vote in the Referendum by reference to which that limit has been calculated is 1,126.

Postal Opening

Postal vote opening will commence at 10.00 a.m. (until complete) on Wednesday 16th November and Thursday 17 November at The Elections Office, Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop S80 2AH

The Count will take place following the close of poll at St. Luke’s Church, Shireoaks Road, Shireoaks, Worksop S81 8LX   

Anyone wishing to act as polling or counting observer should complete this form and return it to The Counting Officer, Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop S80 2AH
