About Me

Born in Retford, Garry worked at West Burton Power Station before gaining a scholarship to Ruskin College, Oxford. He then studied for a BA Hons in History and Politics at the University of Sheffield, before achieving a PGCE in History.

In the past, Garry has been an active member of the governing bodies of several Retford schools.  He is currently employed as Faculty Leader for Humanities at a Doncaster secondary school.

As an experienced Holocaust historian, Garry's passion is leading educational visits to Holocause related sites in Poland, Germany and Austria, in addition to historical tours to the World War One battlefields of Belgium and France.

Garry is honoured to represent Retford North Ward, and works with local people and fellow councillors in order to bring about improvements to the town and District.  He is supportive of the many charitable organisations across the town, expecially the Bassetlaw Hospice, Friends of St Giles School and local Armed Forces Veterans organisations.
