Emergency Planning

Bassetlaw District Council has an important role to play in the response to an emergency within the district.  We are committed to providing information and advice to our residents and businesses about any known or potential emergency.

The within this section provide emergency information relevant to Bassetlaw District and also provides further advice from national, regional, county and surrounding Local Authority Districts and Borough Councils.

What is the Council's Role?

In response to a major emergency, the Council will, as far as possible:

  • Work with the Emergency Services and other organisations
  • Help the victims
  • Maintain services
  • Protect the environment
  • Work with the community to restore normality
  • Offer advice to local businesses on how to make arrangements to deal with the impact of a major incident or disaster.

We can also offer advice to local businesses about preparing to enhance their own resilience in the event of an emergency in the district.
