If the occupation of a property is necessary in order to do the
job properly, or has been provided in order for the employee to
perform their duties. Or as a result of a threat to an
employee's security, or, the employee lives in the property
as part of special security arrangement, you may be able to receive
50% reduction in your Council Tax bill.
For example:
- Live-in caretaker
- Teacher
- Second home of a publican who is required to live in other
licensed premises as a tenant of a brewery
- Ministers of Religion who may have a property elsewhere will
also gain a 50% job related discount on their second home.
If you think you may qualify for this discount please contact
the Council tax helpline on 01909 533234, or email us at customer.services@bassetlaw.gov.uk
We normally ask for you to provide proof that you pay Council
Tax at a main address elsewhere and this is your 'job related'
property. Or contract of employment which states that you
must occupy this property for employment reasons.
