Council Tax Charges 2013/2014

Police, fire and local council services are paid for by Council Tax and Government grants, and in some cases, through charges for services. Council Tax is based on property values and, in this area, is collected by Bassetlaw District Council on behalf of all four organisations.

Your Council Tax leaflet 2013/2014, is available to download, and if you have any comments or questions please contact us.  This leaflet is available in large print or braille.

How do we use your Council Tax, and what is it spent on?

Council Tax payment is the responsibility of owner-occupiers or, if rented, council tenants, private tenants and tenants of housing associations. Council Tax is also due on unoccupied furnished and unfurnished houses in certain circumstances. This booklet explains discounts on occupied and empty houses on page 8.
