This is Bassetlaw: Building a Confident Future
Corporate Plan 2010 - 2013
Bassetlaw deserves a Confident Future. A future for the District
that celebrates our strong local identity, has a role for our
positive and involved communities, that benefits from a safe and
attractive environment, supports a successful local economy and
offers opportunities to achieve for all.
This is Bassetlaw: Building a Confident Future sets out the
Council’s priorities for the next three years, and the targets we
are committed to meeting in each area of work.
Our priorities for the District and its residents for 2010 -
2013 are:
Improve Customer Satisfaction
Keeping residents satisfied with Bassetlaw District Council is
very important to us. Our customer satisfaction levels aren’t as
high as we would like them to be and we are committed to improving
them.
Regenerate the Area and Improve the Environment People Live
In
We believe that everybody in Bassetlaw should have the
opportunity to enjoy a quality standard of living. We are committed
to making Bassetlaw a district that people want to live in; a
district they can be proud of; a district that is clean, green,
safe and healthy.
Support a Vibrant Local Economy
Maintaining a vibrant and growing local economy in the district
is vitally important. Growth will provide new opportunities for
those currently out of work.
Improve the Quality and Choice of Housing
Living in a safe, warm and well-maintained home is essential to
enjoying a good quality of life. Working with A1 Housing Bassetlaw
Ltd, we are committed to bringing all 7000 Council owned properties
up to the decent homes standard by the end of this corporate plan.
By working with partners we will ensure that there is a supply of
quality mixed accommodation that meets the district’s needs.
Although the Corporate Plan shows our ambitions for the next
three years, it doesn’t mean we will be neglecting the ‘day to day’
services. It is business as usual for refuse collections,
recycling, housing benefits, environmental health, planning,
parking enforcement and all the other services we offer.
