The historic market town of Worksop,
situated in the rural district of Bassetlaw in North
Nottinghamshire, offers a range of attractions and facilities for
residents and visitors. Only 10 minutes from the M1 and A1,
and with its own train station and frequent bus services, the town
is easy to access.

Worksop is home to the Priory Church and Gatehouse.
Founded in 1103, it has a superb traditional Norman Nave and an
early English Lady Chapel. Its 14th century gatehouse is
quite unique.

Worksop boasts a wide variety of shops, cafes and pubs and
has a lively street market on Wednesdays, Fridays and
Saturdays.
An ambitious regeneration plan is currently underway in
Worksop which aims to transform the town into an attractive
destination. Tranquil canal side towpaths will lead to an
artist's creative village, complemented by a
bustling thoroughfare in the town's main retail area of Bridge
Street and The Priory Shopping Centre. The focal point of the
town's aspirations is the introduction of a 6 screen cinema
due to be completed in 2012.

The town also serves as an ideal springboard to top attractions
including the Dukeries, Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park.
