On 6 July Mr Keith Paliwoda was convicted on
failing to tell Bassetlaw Council that he had over £45,000 in
accounts which had not been declared. He had a council tax
overpayment of £5,087.67 and was fined £500 with £100
costs.
On 3 August 2011 Worksop Magistrates heard two
cases of benefit fraud. Maxine Bensley of High Street Blyth
was convicted of failing to declare banks accounts which contained
more that the prescribed benefit capital level of £16,000.
She was found guilty and sent for probation reports before
sentencing which is due to take place on 31 August 2011.
She had defrauded the system of £12,109.38 housing and
benefit and £6,539.90 Jobseekers Allowance.
Jodie Fisher of Esworth Avenue Retford was
also convicted and was fined £70.00 with £55.00 costs for failing
to declare that she was living with a partner. She had
overpayments which amounted to £2,049.87 housing and council tax
benefit and £1.037.85 in Income Support.
