Bassetlaw District Council has recognised the efforts of individuals and groups whose efforts have improved the lives of Bassetlaw residents at its annual Achievers’ Awards presentation.

The 2011 Achievers Awards was held on Tuesday 11th October 2011 in the Assembly Room at Worksop Town Hall.

Nominations are made by Councillors, schools, members of the public and from local press reports. Awards are given to residents of all ages, from primary school children to those who have been supporting their community for many years.

Many are given to those who have overcome a personal difficulty or adversity and go on to lead a normal life and help others. This year the nominees ranged from 9 years old upwards.

Achievers Award Winners were presented with a certificate by the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Dave Challinor.
