England’s Wicket Keeping Coach, Bruce French, gave 10
cricket coaches and 10 junior wicket keepers involved with clubs in
Bassetlaw a coaching and mentoring workshop at Cuckney Cricket Club
recently.
This great opportunity for the coaches and players was made
possible by Bruce’s brother Joe, who still has a heavy involvement
with cricket in Bassetlaw through the Bassetlaw Junior Cricket
Steering Group. The Council’s Sports Development team leads the
group.
According to Council Sports Development Officer, Brett Frost,
“The one-day workshop covered both high intensity practical work as
well as the theory. It allowed the Bassetlaw coaches to take the
much appreciated knowledge they gained back to their club players
and fellow coaches, as well as helped the junior players to improve
performance in their match play.
“Both coaches and players have had a real treat and we would
like to thank Bruce for giving his time to delivering this session
for the benefit of cricket in Bassetlaw.”
