Bassetlaw District Council has announced that the 2 for 3 car
parking initiative, which has been running since August 2010, has
been extended from July 2011 to October 2011.
The regime enables cardholders to use their car parking card to
entitle them to one hours free car parking when they purchase two
hours. This applies to all long stay car parks within Worksop and
Retford town centres, such as Castle Hill, Central Avenue, Farr
Park, Gateford Road, Lead Hill, Memorial Avenue, Newgate Street
(Worksop) and also Churchgate and Chapelgate (Retford).
Councillor David Pressley, portfolio holder for Community
Prosperity, said:
“The 2 for 3 car parking initiative has been a great success,
helping to support businesses throughout Worksop and Retford by
encouraging people in to our town centres.
It’s a great example of how such a small change can make a big
difference.”
