Great majority of viewers will find the switchover quite
straightforward, but we know that some people may need advice and
reassurance about converting their equipment and tuning or retuning
it. The attached list gives details of all the roadshows and advice
points where face-to-face help is available for the Yorkshire
Regions, which happen on 10/24 August.
There are also simple videos and re-tuning guides on the
Digital UK website, and
information about re-tuning is contained in the handy guide to
switchover which was distributed to all homes in the region
recently.
People who need one-to-one advice can call the Digital UK advice
line on 08456 50 50 50. If they tell the adviser the make and model
of their TV equipment they will be able to talk them through the
retune.
Eligible older and disabled people can still apply for the
Switchover Help Scheme for help converting one TV set to digital
until 21 October 2011 (one month after the switchover of the final
transmitter in the Yorkshire TV region). The Help Scheme’s Regional
Manager Jeremy Buxton can be contacted on jeremy.buxton@bbc.co.uk or
07714 957025 (or visit helpscheme.co.uk) and would be
happy to help with any questions you may have
