Cllr Julie Leigh, portfolio holder for Environment and Leisure,
said, “When you live through an event it can be difficult to
realise how special it is. The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth
II is one of the most momentous milestones in history, which we
will hear much about over the coming year.
“The past 60 years have seen the world change and the display
included memorable events, both good and bad, from the period.
There are also iconic items from different decades to jog the
memories of those of us not familiar with the amazing development
of technology and changes in fashion.”
All generations are welcome to the Museum and to the “help
yourself” Boredom Buster activities on a Queenly theme that can be
found in the education room.
Bassetlaw Museum is situated in Amcott House, Grove Street,
Retford. It is open from 10am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and
admission is FREE.
