To celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 85th birthday, London-based
children’s picture gallery, Look and Learn is holding an
international children’s competition to paint Her Majesty’s
portrait. Bassetlaw Museum will be hosting two competition days
during the half term for children to be able to come in, create and
enter the competition.
According to Museum Curator, Sam Glasswell, “This means that we
will provide the materials, the space (so no mess at home), and
enter the children in the competition. Even better - it will not
cost anything!
“Come and join in on either Monday 21st or Friday 25th February
2011 between 10:30am – 3pm.
“Her Majesty The Queen will view all entries and winners will
receive a cash prize along with other Royal goodies!
“On the day children must be accompanied by a responsible adult
and can submit one entry. Only portraits created at the Museum can
be entered by the Museum. It is not Bassetlaw Museum that will be
judging the competition.”
