Corporate Plan 2012 -2015
Bassetlaw is rich in diversity,
through its people and places. We have outstanding scenery and open
spaces which residents throughout the District can enjoy the
benefit of. We have an established industrial base, with
manufacturing industries and others seeking to relocate here. Many
residents choose to work directly in Bassetlaw whilst others
commute to nearby towns and cities on a daily basis. All of this
contributes to the fabric of Bassetlaw.
The aim of this Corporate Plan in the
immediate and long term future is to establish a community where
everyone benefits, where we can all live, work and prosper with
confidence.
Our ambitions are:
Economic Regeneration of Our District
The economic regeneration of our district, so that Bassetlaw’s
economy supports enterprise, business and jobs is crucial if we are
to move forward over the next three years.
Quality Housing and Local Environment
Bassetlaw District Council is committed to improving housing
standards and choice regardless of tenure across the District.
Over the next three years we will be working with partners,
including A1 Housing Bassetlaw Ltd, to make sure that the supply,
quality and affordability of local homes meets those needs.
Involved Communities and Locality Working
Strong and cohesive communities give us a sense of well-being
and belonging. By encouraging and supporting local communities to
become involved with the Council we will be better placed to deal
with local challenges and the changing circumstances of our
area.
A Well Run Council
We have in place proper controls to ensure that high standards
of behaviour are observed by officers and Members and that our
decision making is robust and follows a clear process.
We manage the finances of the Council carefully and are
responding to the challenges caused by the reduction in Central
Government funding.
