Outcome of Consultation/Engagement Project 2010-2011

1.

Project Title

Street Scene

2.

What did we do?

Invited residents (selected from the Citizens’ Panel) to attend focus groups at Worksop and Retford Town Halls

3.

Methodology and recruitment

Two discussions groups were held in Worksop and Retford Town Halls involving a total of 18 members from the Nottinghamshire Listens Citizens’ Panel.  Participants were drawn from across the district from a range of social grades, age, gender and ethnicity.

4.

When was it?

12th and 13th July 2010

5.

What did we do?

Explored residents’ perceptions of some of the services provided by Bassetlaw District Council relating to the environment in which they live.

6.

How did we do it?

Round table discussions and questionnaire to gauge residents’ awareness of, and attitudes towards service provision.

7.

Using qualitative research

Unlike quantitative surveys, qualitative research is not designed to provide statistically reliable data on what residents as a whole are thinking. It is illustrative rather than statistically reliable and therefore does not allow conclusions to be drawn about the extent to which something is happening. Instead, it is intended to shed light on why people have particular views and how these views relate to demographic characteristics and the experiences of residents concerned.

8.

How did we follow up the feedback we received?

See actions
